India probably has the most cricket academies in the world. There is no city or town that doesn’t have at least two to three academies. In some cities, you’ll find academies every few lanes.
There are countless academies, and we have picked the top 10 cricket academies in India. These academies are not ranked, considering that each of them has its own unique specialities.
10) Sonnet Cricket Club, Delhi
Several resources say that the Sonnet Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket academies in Delhi. The club was founded by Tarak Sinha, an Indian cricketer and coach, in 1969. Currently, Devendra Sharma handles the academy with an average annual fee of ₹40,000.
It is known for its technical analysis and providing special attention to the players. The club has produced renowned players like Virendra Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Ashish Nehra.
9) L.B. Shastri Cricket Academy, Delhi
Another Delhi-based cricket academy is the L.B. Shastri Cricket Academy. Sanjay Bharadwaj, a former squadron leader and first-class cricket player, founded this academy. He established the academy in 1969 and has been the head coach ever since.
Since the head coach has trained many under-15 to under-19 teams, this academy focuses on training younger players. The academy’s average fee is ₹60,000 per year, and it has given us players like Gautam Gambhir, Reema Malhotra, Amit Mishra and many more.
8) Vengsarkar Cricket Academy (VCA), Mumbai
Dilip Vengsarkar established the Vengsarkar Cricket Academy in 1994. He is a former Indian cricketer who has played with the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev. Vengaskar is also the current head of the academy since he established it.
This cricket academy charges up to ₹40,000 per year. VCA has produced former Indian cricketers such as Yuvraj Singh and Ajit Agarkar (Current IPL Chairman of BCCI. The academy’s active players are Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer.
7) VB Cricket Academy, Chennai
VB Cricket Academy was established by V.B. Chandrasekhar in 1997, a former Indian cricketer and an opening batsman. The current head coach of the academy is Narayana Swamy.
VB Cricket Academy provides scholarships to extremely talented players. Their fees are somewhere around ₹45,000 annually. Players like Murli Vijay and Washington Sundar have trained in the VBA Cricket Academy
6) National School of Cricket, Dehradun
Abhimanyu Easwaran Sr., the father of Abhimanyu Easwaran, the current Indian cricketer, founded the National School of Cricket. It was established by the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy and the Asian School.

The academy was founded in 2008, and so far, it’s the only one on the list to have an indoor hall that provides three pitches during bad weather. The annual fee of this cricket academy is ₹1,20,000.
5) Jaipur Cricket Academy, Jaipur
Shamsher Singh founded the Jaipur Cricket Academy in 2011. Rohit Jhalani, a former domestic Indian cricketer, is the current head coach of the academy.
There is no known information about any alumni who have made it to the national cricket team. There are two sources that state the fee of the academy.
One of the sources states that the yearly fee for the academy is ₹4 million, which seems absurd. The other one claims a reasonable annual fee is somewhere between ₹60,000 and ₹1,20,000.
4) Madan Lal Cricket Academy, Delhi
The third cricket academy on the list is Madan Lal Cricket Academy, founded by Madan Lal in 1997. He is a former cricketer and was the coach for the Indian national team.
The head coach is Amanjeet, who played cricket for the U.P. team and has several years of experience as a coach. The annual fee for the academy is ₹1,00,000.
3) Sehwag Cricket Academy, Jhajjar
Virendra Sehwag, one of the best cricketers in history, started the Sehwag Cricket Academy in 2011. The academy invites several coaches to train the players on different aspects.
The students receive exposure and the opportunity to learn from international and national-level players. They also have sessions that include tips and instructions from Virendra Shewag himself. All of these services, including the training, are provided at the cost of ₹1,50,000.
2) Karnataka Institute of Cricket, Bangalore
The Karnataka Institute of Cricket is almost always placed first in the top ten list. Irfan Sait founded the KIOC in 1997 and is an all-time coach for the institution. It provides the best training throughout the year.
There is no age group or gender limit in this cricket academy. The annual fee ranges from ₹30,000 to ₹1,00,000 based on the training plan of the players. Some sources indicate that the weekend training costs ₹30,000 yearly, whereas the weekdays training reaches ₹95,000.
It has produced players such as Robin Uthappa, Devdutt Padikkal, Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey, and many more.
1) National Cricket Academy, Bangalore
The only cricket academy established by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in 2000. Raj Singh Dungarpur, the then-president of BCCI, founded the National Cricket Academy. Currently, Rahul Dravid manages the NCA.
Since it’s the BCCI’s establishment, the facilities here are endless, from outdoor to indoor grounds, technology, equipment, coaches, and many more things. But this also comes at an annual price of ₹95,000. Some of the notable alumni of the NCA are Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli.
