New Zealand was the first of two teams to reach the final in the debut season. They had won the final series by eight wickets.
As mentioned earlier, Australia has been in the WTC twice and won once. They were the winners in the previous season of the World Test Championship (2023). Australia had won with a lead of 209 runs.
India had been the final contestant back-to-back from the debut season to the previous season. Unfortunately for them, they ended up being the runner-ups.
