South Africa is the recent team name for the 15 players for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Basically, South Africa announced squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on 2nd January 2026. There are some surprises in the squad as Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickelton miss out. Both players were two of the most promising players, but couldn’t find their place in the team. Aiden Markram will be the captain of the South Africa team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Basically, the South Africa team was very close to winning the T20 World Cup last time in the West Indies. They were defeated by the Indian team in the final, and what a game it was. This time, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is going to be the 10th edition of the competition, as it will start on the 7th of February 2026, whereas it will end on the 8th of March 2026. India and Sri Lanka are the host countries this time.

Obviously, the main headline isthat there is no place for Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickelton. The team will again be captained by Aiden Markram, as he was the captain in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup for South Africa. There is good news for the South African team as Kagiso Rabada is fit and has been named in the World Cup squad, which will surely boost the bowling for the South African team.

Keshav Maharaj will be the main spinner of the team and was also part of the team in the previous T20 World Cup. He will have the support of George Linde. Jason Smith, the youngster, has been rewarded for his recent performances in the domestic T20 matches and also in the ongoing SA20 competition. The team is perfectly balanced with experienced players and young superstars.

South Africa is basically in Group D for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, along with New Zealand, Canada, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates. South Africa will play their opening match of the competition against Canada. The date for that match is the 9th of February 2026, whereas the venue is Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
