Oman announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and there are big surprises as big names that played the Asia Cup 2025 not find their place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad. India and Sri Lanka are going to be the hosts of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will start from 7th February and end on the 8th of March. This will be the 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
This is going to be the fourth time that the Oman team will play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. In the previous three editions, which they featured was surely the one to forget. Basically, they did not manage to go further than the first round. Each day is a new day, and maybe this is the year where they could be the dark horses and go ahead in the tournament as the team is well-balanced.

Oman announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: Five Major changes from the Asia Cup 2025 squad
Oman is placed in Group B of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Ireland are other teams in Oman’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 group. They will play their first match of the tournament against Zimbabwe on the 9th of February. SSC Cricket Ground in Colombo will be the venue. Oman plays all of their group matches in Sri Lanka. Two at SSC Cricket Ground in Colombo (Zimbabwe and Ireland) and two at Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy (Sri Lanka and Australia).
After missing out on the Asia Cup 2025 squad for Oman, Jatinder Singh is back and will lead the Oman team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The 36-year-old has played more than 70 T20Is for Oman and has more than 1600 runs, which include nine half-centuries. There are three big changes in the Oman team apart from those that featured in the Asia Cup 2025.
Aamir Kaleem, Sufyan Yousuf, Aryan Bisht, Zikria Islam, and Mohammed Imran are all players who don’t have their place in the 15-member Oman squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Wasim Ali, Jay Odedra, and Karan Sonavale are among the players who have secured their place in the team to play in the T20 World Cup. Oman will play two warm-up matches before the start of the tournament. One against Zimbabwe and the other against Sri Lanka A.
