Another big move has been taken by the Bangladesh government, as no IPL 2026 will be telecasted in Bangladesh. Everything started after Kolkata Knight Riders stripped out Bangladeshi bowler, Mustafizur Rahman’s Indian Premier League contract after the BCCI had their say due to the fans not happy with Mustafizur playing with whatever happened in New Delhi.
Basically, the Indian Premier League 2026 auction took place in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, a few weeks earlier. Kolkata Knight Riders were the highest bidders for Bangladeshi bowler, Mustafizur Rahman,n as they brought the player for a whopping ₹9.2 crore, which made him have the biggest contract in the IPL for a player from Bangladesh.

No IPL 2026 will be telecasted in Bangladesh
It was reported that the Bangladesh Board has filed a petition and asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift all four matches of their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from India to Sri Lanka, or else they would not travel to India for the World Cup, which starts on the 7th of February, 2026. Basically, Bangladesh play their three matches at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and one match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
News has come out, and it is confirmed that the TV channels and all streaming platforms will not live telecast or live stream any matches of the Indian Premier League 2026 in Bangladesh, and have also banned any kind of activities that promote the Indian Premier League in Bangladesh. As of now, it is confirmed that no matches will be telecast without further notice. It is all done for whatever has been done with Mustafizur Rahman.
The Bangladesh government feels that this decision made by the BCCI is not logical, and such decisions have shocked and made Bangladesh fans angrier and angrier. Mustafizur Rahman is not the only Bangladeshi player who has played in the Indian Premier League. Mohammad Ashraful, Liton Das, Abdur Razzak, Tamim Iqbal, and Mashrafe Mortaza are the other players who have played in the Indian Premier League from Bangladesh over the years.
