The New Zealand Cricket Players’ contract was recently renewed on 3 June 2025 for the 2025-2026 season. Their cricket board, New Zealand Cricket (NZC), supervises the salaries and contracts of the cricket players. In the top ten richest cricket boards, NZC ranks tenth with a total revenue of $9 million.
NZC is different from the other cricket boards we have mentioned so far. It doesn’t categorise the players in any grade or multi-contract system. New Zealand’s Cricket team has signed 20 players in their contracts. This season’s central contract is slightly different from last season’s.
New Zealand’s official upcoming tournament will be their tour to Zimbabwe on 16 July 2025. It will consist of four T20I matches against Zimbabwe and South Africa. After this, the New Zealand team will play two test matches against Zimbabwe from 30 July 2025 to 11 August 2025.

New Zealand Cricket announced the offer for a central contract to 20 players for the 2025-2026 season. It is now only showing 20 players after Kane Williamson rejected the contract offer.
He rejected the central contract in the 2024-2025 season to look at other T20Is and other tournaments to play in. However, he played in the 2025 Champions Trophy with a casual contract. Some other players like Tim Seifert, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson and Finn Allen have also rejected the central contract offer.

The New Zealand Cricket contract had four adjustments aside from Kane Williamson’s rejection. Four cricket players were replaced with the newly signed players. Tim Southee, New Zealand’s best wicket-taking elite bowler, retired in December 2024.
Tim Southee and three other players, Ajaz Patel, Josh Clarkson and Ish Sodhi, did not receive any contract for next season. NZC offered Zak Foulkes, Mitch Hay, Adi Ashok, and Muhammad Abbas contracts to take the spots of Tim Southee, Ajaz Patel, Josh Clarkson and Ish Sodhi. Their performance and capability of playing at an international level earned them their first central contract.
The other sixteen players on New Zealand’s contract include Tom Blundell, Will Young, William O’Rourke, Michael Bracewell, Matt Henry, Rachin Ravindra, Henry Nicholls, Ben Sears, Mark Chapman, Jacob Duffy, Nathan Smith, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, and Daryl Mitchell.
NZC is currently out there negotiating a casual contract for Kane Williamson, Tim Seifert, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, and Finn Allen, as they are New Zealand Cricket’s best players.
The pay for the New Zealand cricket players for the 2025-2026 season is not completely accurate. Currently, we were only able to verify what their last season’s pay was. Supposedly, this is the same pay that will be paid to players. The salary is anywhere between $165,000 NZD and $318,000 NZD.
