One of the most consistent teams from Africa to qualify from South Africa in the T20 World Cup is Namibia. Basically, Namibia announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, and Gerhard Erasmus is the captain of the team. The 10th edition of the kick-off on the 7th of February and ends on the 8th of March. India and Sri Lanka are going to be the hosts.
In the last nine editions of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Namibia have qualified for three of them. This is their fourth consecutive participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Their best finish in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was in the 2021 edition were they qualified for the Super-12s. The last edition was a disappointing one for them as they were knocked out in the Group stages, losing three out of their four matches.

Namibia announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: All-rounder Gerhard Erasmus to lead the team
Naminia are placed in Group A of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India, Pakistan, the Netherlands, and the United States of America are other teams in their group for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. They will play their first match against the Netherlands on 10th February at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. They also play another match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi against India. One match they play at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai (USA) and the other at SSC Cricket Ground in Colombo (Pakistan).
The all-rounder, Gerhard Erasmus, will be the captain of the Namibia team at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. As this is going to be their fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament, they would hope to take a step further in the competition. Wicketkeeper-batter Zane Green is well-experienced and will be the opener for the Namibia team. He will play an important role in leading the batting department by giving a decent start to the team.
JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, and Bernard Scholtz are the players who have great records for the team will be the ones to lead the team with the experience they have. Ruben Trumpelmann and Ben Shikongo are the fast bowlers for the Namibia team, while on the other hand, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, WP Myburgh, and Malan Kruger will make the batting department stronger for Namibia.
