The English batsman Jamie Smith, who is currently ranked 10th in the Men’s Test Batting rankings, had just completed his half-century. Previously dropped by KL Rahul at five runs, Smith played it to his advantage and scored 51 runs off 56 balls.

On 11 July 225, in the 106th over, Mohammed Siraj bowled to Smith, and he played the ball away from his body, and it hit the edge of his bat. Mohammed Siraj has been a football fan, especially of the Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo. After his tribute on the second day at Jamie’s dismissal, he spoke about paying his respects to the late Diogo Jota.
Siraj expressed how he felt when he heard the news. He had already decided that if he got any wickets, he would show his respect for the athlete.
“In the last match when we were arriving, I got to know that Diogo Jota passed away in a car accident. I’m a fan of Portugal because Cristiano Ronaldo plays for that team. I felt very emotional after hearing the news.”
