Maharashtra Premier League 2025 is returning with its third season of the T20 cricket tournament. The tournament starts on 4 June 2025, which is one day after the 2025 IPL finals, and the final match is on 22 June 2025. The 2025 Maharashtra Premier League features six teams participating.
Since there are only six teams, the tournament is following a double-round-robin format. In this format, each team plays all other teams two times, for a total of thirty qualifier matches. Including the four playoff matches, the tournament hosts thirty-four matches. The full match format follows that of the Indian Premier League.
In the qualification games, each team will have to play 2 matches against the other teams. At the end of the qualifying games, four teams qualify for the playoff games. Three playoff matches will take place, leading to the final match.
The Maharashtra Premier League has had two competitions, with Ratnagiri Jets being the team to win both seasons. The one change was in the 2024 season final, where the final match was abandoned.

The opening match of the Maharashtra Premier League 2025 will take place on 4 June 2025. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM at the MCA International Stadium, Pune. The match will feature the 2024 Maharashtra Premier League finalists.
The Qualifier 1 match will be played by the first and second-ranked teams. The outcome of the match will determine which team will make it to the finals, while the losing team will proceed to Qualifier 2.
Based on the rankings, the 3rd and 4th-ranked teams will compete in the elimination round. The loser will be eliminated while the winner will advance to Qualifier 2.
All the playoff matches are important as they could determine the final destination of the participants in the tournament.
