KKR squad 2026: Full list of players, New buys, and IPL 2026 strategy

Kolkata Knight Riders made headlines in the 2026 India Premier League auction after signing Cameron Green for ₹25.20 crore. KKR squad 2026 is now complete, and it is fair to say that they have made some smart picks and fulfilled their requirements for their upcoming Indian Premier League season. The Indian Premier League 2026 will start from the 26th of March 2026 and will end on the 31st of May 2026.

The previous edition of the Indian Premier League was a disaster for the Kolkata Knight Riders as they were going into the season as the defending champions. They could only finish on the eight position. The team almost kept all of the players on the auction table, retaining only a few, and also Andre Russell announced his retirement from the IPL and joined KKR as a power coach.

It was very clear that Kolkata Knight Riders went all out on Cameron Green as they had the biggest purse and also needed to bring in a replacement for Andre Russell. They had a great competition from the Chennai Super Kings, but they emerged as the winners and got Green for ₹25.20 crore and set the record for the most expensive overseas purchase in the history of the IPL. The record earlier also belongs to them when they purchased Mitchell Starc for ₹24.80 crore.

They also got the second expensive purchase in the 2026 IPL auction as they got the former Chennai Super Kings player, Matheesha Pathirana, for ₹18 crore. Kolkata also purchased Mustafizur Rahman for ₹9.20 crore. They will surely add to their bowling line-up as they already have Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Umran Malik, and Sunil Narine. They also purchase Akash Deep for ₹1 crore.

The batting looks solid as they have experienced Ajinkya Rahane. They have got in New Zealand’s Tim Seifert, Finn Allen, and Rachin Ravindra for ₹1.50 crore and ₹2.00 crore, respectively. Tejasvi Singh, who is a young wicket-keeper batter, also gets his place in the Kolkata Knight Riders team for ₹3 crore. Now, the headache for the management is to choose which four overseas players will start, as Green, Narine, and Pathirana have to be confirmed.
