Quinton de Kock was on fire as he showed his intent from the first ball of the innings. He and Hendricks added 41 for the first wicket with minimal contribution from Hendricks. Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram added 83 runs for the second wicket. Eventually, Quinton de Kock was the star batter as he scored 90 runs in 45 balls which included five boundaries and seven massive sixes. Miller and Ferreira ended the innings well as they added 53 runs in the last 23 balls of the innings, which helped South Africa reach 213/4 in 20 overs.
India lost their vice-captain, Shubman Gill, in the first over for a golden duck. It was a surprise that Axar Patel came in at three. In the next three overs, India lost Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. Now there are concerns about the form of India’s captain, Suryakumar. Tilak Varma was the only positive for the Indian team as he scored 62 runs in 34 balls, which included two boundaries and five massive sixes. India scored 162/10 in 19.1 overs as South Africa won the match by 51 runs.
Ottneil Baartman was the best bowler for the South Africa team as he had bowling figures of 4/24 in his four overs. Quinton de Kock won the Man of the Match award for his knock of 90 runs. The series is now level at 1-1, and things get interesting now. Now, the date for the third ODI is the 14th of December, and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala is the venue. The live coverage starts at 7 PM.
