Can the Indian Women’s team sweep up the series 5-0? 30th December 2025 is the date for the 5th and the final T20I, as Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram is the venue for the match.
The Indian Women’s team just recently won their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup and are now on the way to winning the T20 World Cup 2026 as well, which starts on the 12th of June 2026 and will end on the 5th of July 2026. England and Wales are the hosts for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Just recently, the Indian team scored their highest-ever total in the T20I format against Sri Lanka Women, and the team looks full of superstars.

India Set New Benchmarks Ahead of the 2026 T20 Women’s World Cup
The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam was the venue for the first T20Is between the Indian Women and the Sri Lankan Women. Basically, the Indian Women’s team won the first T20I by eight wickets. They again won the second T20I, and this time it was by seven wickets. In the third match, the venue was changed, but the result did not. The Indian women’s team won the match by eight wickets as the venue was Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
In the fourth match, the Indian Women’s team was batting first for the first time in the series. They scored 221/2 in their 20 overs. It was Indian Women team’s highest score in the T20I format and it was a record breaking opening partnership as well. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma added 162 runs for the opening wicket. Eventually, the Sri Lankan Women put up a fight but fell short. Basically, the Sri Lankan Women’s team lost the match by 30 runs.
There are a lot of positives that the team will take from this series, and the most important one is the comeback for Shafali Varma. She returned during the World Cup and has never stopped scoring for the Indian Women’s team since then. Shafali has already scored three half-centuries in the four matches. The new 20-year-old, Vaishnavi Sharma, is the new find for the Indian team, and she has been bowling brilliantly so far. She has four wickets in the series so far. Vaishnavi Sharma is tied with Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Shree Charani for most wickets for India in this series so far.
