The International Cricket Council (ICC) will have its say and will suggest two venues for all matches of the Bangladesh Cricket team in the upcoming week after they appealed to shift the venue due to security reasons for the players. Basically, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had given an official letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Eventually, they denied that the matches from India would not be shifted, but surely they will look into it if they shift the matches within India.

This request to shift the venues was made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after everything happened with their bowler, Mustafizur Rahman. Basically, Mustafizur Rahman was selected by the Kolkata Knight Riders to play for them in the Indian Premier League in 2026. He was purchased for a whopping ₹9.2 crore, which made him the highest-paid Bangladeshi player in the Indian Premier League. His contract was terminated after BCCI told the Kolkata Knight Riders to do so due to the tensions between the two nations.

As per reports, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram were suggested as alternate venues, but there is still no confirmation regarding the same for the matches of Bangladesh in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. A few days ago, the Bangladesh Board did not want to play in Chennai, but as things stand, their sporting advisory committee could be ready to play at the venue.
