Delhi Women Premier League 2025 Squads: Check All Teams, Key Players & Star Performers

Delhi Women’s Premier League 2025, also known as the WDPL 2025, is the second season of Delhi’s domestic tournament for women. This edition will commence in the second half of August on 17 August 2025, and the matches will be played until 24 August 2025. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi will host all the tournament matches.

The league will be playing with four participating teams in a single round-robin format. This means that a team will play three matches with the other teams as qualifying matches. Only the two highest teams with the most points in the points table will play the final match. Coming to the total number of matches to be held, there shall be seven matches in the whole tournament.

In the debut season of the Delhi Women’s Premier League in 2024, the North and South Delhi teams qualified for the final match. The match was intense, with both teams completing all the overs, but in the end, the North Delhi team won the match by 10 runs.

Delhi Women Premier League 2025 Squads

The matches of the 2025 edition of the Delhi Women’s Premier League will be held under the Twenty20 format, where matches can last anywhere from 3 to 4 hours. The hours will be rich in thrilling activities and exhilaration, for both players and fans. All four franchise teams have packed their team already.

Delhi Women’s Premier League 2025 Teams

As I have mentioned in the introduction, there are four teams in the Delhi Women’s Premier League 2025, like the first season. The four franchises that have bought each team are the Strikers, Queens, Superstarz and Riders. The Strikers, with the North Delhi team, won against the Superstarz’s South Delhi team in the debut season’s final match.

Delhi Women’s Premier League 2025 Key Players & Star Performers

There were numerous other fine players in the Delhi Women’s Premier League 2024, with each contributing in their own way. But there were five key players who really lifted the quality of the tournament with their outstanding performances.

  1. Upasana Yadav: She emerged as the highest run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 270 runs in just four matches, with a towering 114 in one innings, the highest in the league.
  2. Ayushi Soni: Next in line after Upasana, Ayushi scored 148 runs with a graceful yet dependable style of batting.
  3. Nazma: Best bowler of the tournament with seven wickets, including three wickets in an innings, and the best bowling figures of 4/17.
  4. Medhavi Bidhuri: While she was fourth in wicket-taking with four wickets, Medhavi did manage to take three wickets in an innings and recorded the second-best bowling figures of 3/20.
  5. R Priyadarshni: The wicket-keeper had the maximum number of dismissals (6) in the tournament.
