Another edition and another aim to fight for the trophy as the Netherlands announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Scott Edwards will lead the team as he has been named the captain of the team. This is going to be the tenth edition of the T20 World Cup. India and Sri Lanka are the hosts of the competition. It will start on 7 February 2026 and end on 8 March 2026.
The previous edition was surely not what the Netherlands team would want to remember, as they could not make a place further in the competition, as they got knocked out in the group stage. In the past nine editions, the Netherlands have played six times in the ICC T20 World Cup and this is going to be their seventh time and they hope this one would be the one to remember. Their best finish was in 2014 when they qualified for the Super 10s. They defeated England in the Super 10s that year.

Netherlands announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: Scott Edwards will lead the team
The Netherlands are going to play in Group A of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India, Pakistan, Namibia, and the United States of America are other teams in their group. They will play the opening fixture of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 as Pakistan will be their opponents for the match. The Netherlands will play one match in Sri Lanka, and the venue will be the SSC Cricket Ground, Colombo. The other three matches will be played in India. Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, and Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad are their venues in India.
The board has announced the 15-member squad that has a great blend of experience and young power. Scott Edwards will be the captain of the team, and he is the first-choice wicketkeeper of the team. He was also on the team for the Netherlands team in the previous edition, which was played in the West Indies in 2024. There are a lot of names who have returned to the team after a long period of time.
Roelof van der Merwe, Bas de Leede, Michael Levitt, and Zach Lion-Cachet are the players who return to the team. They last featured for the Netherlands in the CC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Region Final. Veteran all-rounder Colin Ackermann also gets his place in the team. The last time he featured was in 2024 November. Logan van Beek, who is a bowler, also makes his comeback to the team.
