In a recent video on YouTube, Sanju Samson gets advice from Krishnamachari Srikkanth. Basically, Krishnamachari Srikkanth spoke on his YouTube channel about how Sanju Samson needs to convert his starts into big innings, which would help India in the upcoming ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2026 that starts from the 7th February.
On 20th December (Saturday), India announced their squad for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2026. This will be the same squad that will also play the T20I series against New Zealand. There was a big surprise that Shubman Gill was not included, and now it is clear that Sanju Samson will be the opener with Abhishek Sharma for India. Sanju also got a chance to play in the final T20I, where he scored 37 runs in 22 balls.

So far, Sanju Samson has played more than 50 T20Is for the Indian Cricket team since his debut. In those matches, he has scored more than 1000 runs with a strike rate of around 150, which is perfect for the T20 format. Sanju Samson has scored three hundreds in the T20I format for the Indian team, which makes him one of three players to have three or more hundreds in this format for India. Above him are only Rohit Sharma and the current captain, Suryakumar Yadav.

Krishnamachari Srikkanth spoke about Sanju Samson should start to convert his starts to a big knock, as no one remembers the 30+ or 4o+ scores that you have. In the last T20I against South Africa, he started well but could only score 37 runs. Krishnamachari Srikkanth advised him convert his 37 into 73 when he next bats for India. This will surely cement his place in the team, and no one will be able to question his place.
Many of you might have forgotten, but Sanju Samson was part of India’s squad that won the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024. He did not get a place to showcase what he is all about, but this time, he will be an important player for the Indian team.
