The team has entered the Indian Premier League late, but holds the record for the most expensive signing in the history of the Indian Premier League as they purchased Rishabh Pant for ₹27 crore in the previous edition. The expensive signing of their auction was the Australian batter Josh Inglis, for whom they paid a whopping ₹8.60 crore. Their batting department now looks explosive as they already have Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Matthew Breetzke. They did not hesitate to get the Indian capped players for a higher price as they signed Naman Tiwari, Akshat Raghuwanshi, and Mukul Choudhary.
Not to forget, before the auction, they had already used the trade window to bring in experienced Mohammed Shami and young Arjun Tendulkar. The team already has Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav in their team. They could have done more to bring in home experience bolwers, but they have trusted their players from the last season.
