As we are looking at the India vs South Africa test series, the BCCI has announced India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against South Africa starting on the 30th of November 2025. There are some surprises, and surely the doubt has been cleared about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma missing out. They are in the team and will most likely play all matches. The India vs South Africa series will surely be an exciting one, looking at the close fight in the test series going on.
Basically, the first ODI is on 30th November, and the venue for the match is the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The second ODI is on the 3rd of December, and the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur is the venue. Eventually, the last and 3rd ODI is on the 6th of December, and the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam is the venue.

India vs South Africa: India’s ODI Squad revealed: KL Rahul to lead, Virat & Rohit back, No Axar, and more
Basically, India’s captain in the ODI format is Shubman Gill. He suffered a neck injury in the first test match against South Africa. The medical staff does not want to take any risk, and it is correctly done. He will not feature, and in place of Gill, KL Rahul will be the one to lead the Indian team in the ODI series. He will most likely be accompanied by Rohit Sharma as his opening partner.
Virat Kohli is back, and he will bat at the number four position. If KL Rahul decides to bat in the middle order, then we will see Yashasvi Jaiswal to open the innings. Ruturaj Gaikwad has earned his place in the team and is mostly the third-choice opener. There is no Axar Patel in the Indian team. Ravindra Jadeja is back after missing the Australian series.
Tilak Varma will be playing in the middle order with either Dhruv Jurel or Rishabh Pant behind the wicket. Both players could miss out if India wants to play with an extra all-rounder or bowler. KL Rahul will keep. There is no Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj in the bowling department for India in the ODI series. It will be either Harshit Rana or Arshdeep Singh who will sit on the bench with Prasidh Krishna starting.
